The new commercial for Intervention makes me cry like an ass every single time it comes on, even if it comes on twice in one commercial break.

So I got myself my own Geeetar last week and right when I'm getting to the point where I can switch chords semi-quickly my fingers are so blistered I can't hold the strings down anymore. it's a no-win man.

My neighbor's horse Bravo got bad colic and died this morning. I feel so awful for her. He was an awesome, huge, gentle horse with such a Joe Cool human personality.

Flew in on Friday after work to see Amy and Tom in Fort Myers, went to the a bar so redneck even I felt out of place, went to the beach next day, swam with a bunch of stingrays, had bbq at night, caught some lizards,next day went on the boat, saw leaping manta rays and ladyfish, burnt to a crisp, boat motor busted 6 miles from loading dock, had to call SeaTow to come get us and wait an hour, get towed for 10 minutes and SeaTow breaks down, wait until 2am for another tow boat to come get us, miss my flight, get home in time for 1 hour of sleep, catch plane at 6am back to JFK, drive directly to work. Holy WUH. it was a great weekend..

A cute little house finch came to the bird feeder tonight and Mourning Dove was out there this morning cooing again--the first two birds I've seen there since I put the feeder out, so yay it's working. I am a little worried that when I have to move it, they will get confused. I haven't seen any hummingbirds at their feeder yet, but it's probably a little early for them anyways.

I love it. It's MUCH smaller, since we had a two bedroom before, but it's so much nicer and brighter and sunnier being on the second floor. On the ground floor it felt like I was in a cave; it was always dark, we got no sunlight in there. Now we get morning sun. Yesterday there was a mourning dove perched on the balcony railing just cooing away, and there are all sorts of other birds that pop in from time to time. Going to get a little bird feeder (not sure if that's allowed so I'll have to kind of hide it) and a hummingbird feeder plus some flowers for next to the window..

And after we get back from the UP it's time to bring home BABY LIZARD!!.

yesterday i went fishing for the first time this season. the weather was beautiful--overcast but 60's--but i think the water was still too cold to conjur up much action. the fish are just too sluggish still...at least the ones I'm interested in catching. I went to "lake lajobi" first, which is a small drainage pond right outside my office building. There were a crapload of little baby bass and HUGE carp the size of logs just chillin in the shallows. I wanted to stop in Cranbury at Brainerd Lake but there was some stupid arts and crafts show going on and all the parking was taken up, so I just kept going to Grover's Mill Pond and cast a few from the walkway. Dead. Next I'm going to try out Carnegie and Mercer lakes and just generally scout around to find "my spot". I love fishing madly, but what I loved most about it was my location and I wish I could recreate that carefree feeling of sitting in the hot sun on a sandy bank with no people for miles, stringing a worm and knowing it will work. And just feeling at home. It's so congested here. I can't wait to get outside and hike, away from everyone. And I vow never to go to Walmart again, so long as I live. Talk about a cluster fuck.

I'm pretty sure we never go to chicago w/out going to Water Tower Place

had martinis at the Hancock tower bar/restaurant. that's always neat. We waited for a while to get a seat by the window, and when we did, a lady was taking pictures and dropped her camera. Somehow, it went down the only hole in the entire floor and got stuck under the floorboards and beams and she was extremely upset because apparently every picture she'd ever taken over the last 5 years was still on the camera (lol wtf). Sam dug in there, and managed to get it out and saved the day.

So instead of skiing out west, we're going to Chicago on Friday, coming back Sunday for our birthday festivities. Not enough people could have made. This should be fun though, I love Chicago, favorite city in the US. Dang it's gonna be cold :(

We have till the end of the month to decide if we're staying in this apartment or not. I love the location, but Princeton is so inflated. This place is def not worth $1500/month. We can get another 2 bedroom in a nicer community just a half mile down the road in West Windsor for $300 a month less, and it has garage parking and allows pets. I want to get in there baaaad! it looks perfect.

OMG i LOVE JOCKEYS. I'm going to watch that show religiously. I hate horse racing with a passion, but I can't stop watching that show. It alsmost makes me believe it's not that bad, even though all you ever hear them talk about is MONEY. No one talks about the horses, it's all about "I need to win this one, place this one, I need to bank this race". I have never heard any of them talk about their horses yet. And that's sad. I guess that's why i want to keep watching.

I'm awake right now cuz I woke up to a punch in the ribs and a "stop making noises, seriously". And I had no idea what was going on, I must have been dreaminmaking noises. Then I get a jab in the ribs and reprimanded and now I'm awake in the other bed and scared to go to sleep :(
